About the Socially Conscious Blog

Our goal here at the Socially Conscious Blog is to raise awareness for the many causes, initiatives and people doing exceptional jobs using the web to make a positive impact on the world.

How do we do that?

By connecting with these organizations and finding out what they are all about, we’re hoping to convey that information to you through our site.

How can you help?

These causes & initiatives accomplish goals through your help. Here are several ways you too can make a positive impact.

1. By reading about them, you have already helped! Understanding what these organizations do will make you more conscious of what they are all about and give you a deeper context of the kind of impact that they’re making. Only once you’re aware, can you truly begin to contribute.

2. When you discover a cause that you connect with, start sharing it with everyone. Click the ‘Like’ button, re-tweet it, tell your friends about it – pass on the information any way you can. In turn, you’re making others more socially conscious.

3. If you realize that you’re really passionate about this initiative, figure out a way to contribute to them directly. Usually at the end of each article or interview, we’ll give you a few ways of getting involved.

By turning your inspiration into action, we can collectively contribute to the greater cause.

Credits & Thanks

This blog wouldn’t have been possible had it not been for the help I’ve received from some amazing people.

The wonderful illustrations you see on our website were designed by Alex Latimer (An illustrator and cartoonist based in Capetown, South Africa)

The reason all our articles are so polished and sharp is thanks to the editing by my cousin Shawn Sieiro.

The reason this website is live is thanks to the hard work of Mohammad Salahudeen and his team over at Sistrum International who did everything pro bono.

I’d like to credit Lola Lopez (founder of Volunteer in Dubai) for helping me find them. Thank you.

A special thanks to my mate Lyndon Fernandes, who always willingly helps me out with the maintenance of the website. Cheers mate, I owe you quite a few rounds.
